The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the United States is pleased to share that the County of San Diego, California, has officially proclaimed December 13, 2024, as “H.E. Ambassador Dahir Hassan Abdi Day.” Supervisor Joel Anderson, who represents San Diego County’s Second District, presented this honor recognizing the deep ties between Somalia and San Diego County.

Ambassador Dahir Hassan attended a meeting of the African Diplomatic Corps (ADCs) held at the African Union Mission in Washington, D.C. The Corps welcomed newly accredited ambassadors, including Ambassador Hassan, as they joined the diplomatic community.
