Ambassador Dahir Hassan Attends African Diplomatic Corps Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Dahir Hassan attended a meeting of the African Diplomatic Corps (ADCs) held at the African Union Mission in Washington, D.C. The Corps welcomed newly accredited ambassadors, including Ambassador Hassan, as they joined the diplomatic community.

Key topics discussed included the upcoming AGOA Forum, set to take place in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in July 2025, and the African Heads of State Summit on Energy, scheduled for January 2025 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

The ADCs will again reconvene in January 2025 to establish and renew subcommittee membership. These committees—focused on US-Africa relations, economic development, sustainable development, and public affairs—play a vital role in advancing shared goals. Somalia, already actively engaged in some of these committees, looks forward to contributing to the ongoing efforts.
