His Excellency Dahir Hassan Abdi, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the United States, delivered the keynote address at the Global Somali Awards 2025, an event that brought together Somali changemakers, innovators, and leaders from across the globe.
Held annually, the Global Somali Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in business, education, health, culture, and public service by Somalis. In his keynote speech, Ambassador Dahir highlighted the power of Somali identity, the importance of diaspora diplomacy, and the remarkable impact of Somali talent on the global stage.
“Wherever Somalis go, they carry with them brilliance, drive, and dignity,” he remarked, applauding the honorees and calling for a unified effort to invest in Somalia’s future.
The Ambassador emphasized the crucial role the Somali diaspora plays in reshaping global perceptions, promoting economic opportunities, and strengthening Somalia’s ties with international partners, particularly the United States.
The Embassy extends its congratulations to all the award recipients and applauds their continued efforts in building a more connected, empowered, and visionary Somali community worldwide.
