The Embassy of Somalia in Washington, DC announces that the NIRA ID application is now required when applying for a Somali passport. Accordingly, a new integrated modern passport and NIRA ID appointment system has been released.
The embassy has discontinued the acceptance of money orders. All payments must now be made digitally and submitted directly to the embassy.
Fees paid cover both passport and NIRA ID services.

You must not have had a previous passport. The Immigration and Citizen Agency records all previous and current information, so please provide accurate and truthful details.
We only process new passports and renewals of expired passports. Lost passports are not processed.
