Note: You don’t need to travel to DC for Wakaalad service. You can mail your documents by following the process below:
- To process your request for a Power of Attorney/Wakalad, please mail the following to documents and payment to the Embassy:
- Notarized wakaalad document [written in Somali]
- Copy of a valid government ID
- $200 Money Order addressed to Embassy of Somalia
- In-office Wakalad processing Mon-Thurs. 10:00am to 3:00pm (processing will not be available for same day pick-up after 3pm)
- Documents from Canada must include pre-paid mailing envelope.
- Note: Any modifications to documents issued by the Somali Embassy will require restarting the application process, including the repayment of associated fees. Additionally, unauthorized alterations will result in administrative and financial penalty.
